Dremel Storage Cases

Posted by Aaron on April 27, 2006 and filed under Dremel , Storage and Organizing

If you're looking for a purpose-built storage case for your Dremel you won't find them in retail stores. However, Dremel does offer two cases through the Service Center in Racine, WI.

From Dremel's site:

"The largest and most popular Dremel tool and accessory case is the Deluxe Window Storage Case #9673, which measures 16.5"L x 7"W x 6"H. It holds one corded Dremel tool and approximately 130 bits. Two additional storage areas located in the lid keep loose accessories – like polishing wheels – together while a designated bottom compartment is perfect for storing the flex shaft, cutting guide and grout guide attachments. The Deluxe Window Storage Case retails for $21.30 (not including shipping and tax where applicable).'

To order, contact Dremel's customer service team at 1-800-437-3635, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Central Standard Time.

Memories

This isn't my car, but I did something similar once to a Toyota station wagon when I put a dozen sheets of 5/8" drywall on the roof rack. Fortunately I was able to push the roof back out by lying in the back and kicking upwards with both feet - so everything turned out fine in the end.

Hawkmate

If you do enough drywall, the Hawkmate provides an interesting custom hawk you'll be intersted in. (If you don't do much drywall, just move on...)

It does the basic functions of a hawk (basically a place to put spackle while your finishing drywall) that also has slots to put multiple knives when your not using them. The slots also protect the knife edges when you stow them.

Garry Katz is a finish carpenter who also does instructional writing, which explains how he not only created a sweet custom Tool Tote for carrying all your tools around, but also did a fantastic how-to write-up on his website so you can do it yourself.

I'm thinking Gary would write an excellent houseblog!

Craftsman "Viper" Tool Storage Series

Sears gets flashy with this new "Viper Tool Storage Collection", which features polished stainless steel finish drawers that their standard "Craftsman Tool Storage Collection, Red" doesn't have.

Fancy...although I'd be a bit nervous that a real, functioning shop might be the kinda place where this thing might accumulate a few knicks, dents and scratches.

Maybe it's just me.

Veto Pro Pac Tool Bag

The Veto Pro Pac tool bag makes its mark due to its sturdy construction. Industrial nylon stitching, oversized zippers and marine grade rivets and snaps make this an extremely durable bag.

The LC-1 model (pictured above) holds 75 tools, and is the junior cousin to the XL version (pictured below) that can hold 100. Thus, the LC is better for job-specific use while the XL is for your bigger trips or all-in-one storage needs.

Photos of the XL model are after the jump.
