Review: RIGID Compound Miter Saw table stand
![]()
We used to have a DELTA 12” miter saw that we inherited from my father in-law. It worked great, but it was very heavy and didn’t have a blade guard. We had a big project this summer to replace a lot of our front porch trim efore it got repainted. This involved a LOT of miter cuts and it just seemed easier to bring the saw to the work.
I really dreaded dragging the old miter saw around to do the work and we started looking for an alternative. Enter the RIGID 12” double-bevel, sliding compound miter saw and saw stand. I really like this stand because it collapses with the saw on board to a footprint slightly larger than a refrigerator dolly. We have a fairly small wood shop, so space is a premium. I find if very easy to set upright and it really provides a stable working place to make your cuts. There are two rollers on each side that help you move and support long sections of work, up to 8 ft. The stand can also support up to 300 lbs.
The dolly design is heavier than most of the other available options in a saw stand, but I think this is easier to move the saw and stand at one time from place to place. It is about 60 lbs compared to 35 or 40 lbs. You are not limited to using a RIGID brand saw either. There are many mounting holes available to mount other brands of wood working equipment.
