Ridgid Cordless Planer
I bought our Bosch planer about a year and a half ago now, and I'm pretty sure there weren't coordless models at the time. As is the case with almost every tool these days, now there is.

Aside from the whole cord-free thing, Rigid's cordless planer has a few other innovations as well. Most notably, they depart from the traditional blade design and have gone with a spiral-cut tumbler--a logical pairing with the coordless battery because a spiral cut incurs less resistance and thus takes less run time. Another nice touch (which my Bosch as as well) is a little kickstand at the end that allows the planer to be set down on a smooth surface while still running.

This is interesting- I can see why you wouldn't want a cord in the way when trying to use a power planer. We're in the market for one, so we'll have to put this one on our list to research! Thanks!
